I am taking Red Yeast Rice 1200mg once a day for slightly elevated cholesterol...I just started taking it, and also CoQ-10 200 mg once a day at same time..My doc said she did not know if the coq-10 dose was correct, but said she had good results with patients taking Red Yeast Rice...She also said to find out if it is ok to take this combination in the morning and my synthroid (I have under controlled Hypothyroid) at my usual time at night at bedtime..Thank you in advance for any help and advice you can give me. I seemed to have some adverse reaction to Lipitor 10 mg and stopped it. My doctor says while on it, my blood levels were incredibly good, and I should go back on. I prefer over-the-counter red yeast rice 640 mg/day, which also kept my cholesteraol at good numbers. What do you think Lipitor vs red yeast rice?

I am having a burning sensation in my lips, and they are slightly swollen. The skin on the underside is red. I am a snorer, and have used products that help align jaw and tongue to alleviate the problem. I seem to be sensitive to silicon or similar materials, and have had issues in the past with these appliances, but this seems different. My sister and I both take red yeast rice to help control elevated cholesterol, and she recently mentioned to me that she has thrush. So...I am wondering if it could be caused by red yeast rice. Maybe that s my mouth issue rather than silicon sensitivity.
