Heart rate 65 at this age is not much law.
Nothing to worry,if you are a sportsman or doing vigorous exercise has tendency to have low heart rate.

Nope, perfectly Normal. Normal heart rate is 60-100 and it's the same for Adolescents after age 12. The HR does not have to be exact in the bracket either. Rhythm and amplitude are more important. If like me you exercise a lot and are generally very fit, you may find your Pulse is 50 something or even less. All factors need to be taken into consideration. The heart rate should always be assessed by using a stethoscope and listening to the apical heart beat. Edit Yes, HenH is quite correct.

Hi. I have started training 3years ago - doing a lot of aerobic and strength training. Training 5-6times a week for about 90minutes now. I have always had low blood pressure and weak pulse. Since I started training and lost about 2.5stones and as I got fitter, the resting heart rate decreased. I am lately having days where my heart rate would not increase above 65%HRMax - that is with having a lot of rest, training 3times a week at the moment. Could it be a sign of overtraining? I do feel very weak and faint lately, I am experiencing higher volume of stress and wake up few times at night - find it difficult to sleep all night through. What could it be? What would be the best to do? THank you. Kate

hi! I m a 19 year old white female. 5 6 , 135 lbs. I m a D1 athlete and have always been very fit. After having mono this past fall, however, my heart rate is excessively high with fairly minimal exertion. (ex. For an easy hour jog I used to be under 140 bpm and now I rarely can stay under 170...sometimes even spiking up to 190+ and so I ve pretty much avoided high intensity exercise like intervals and race pace efforts.) My resting heart rate is a little bit higher (65 as opposed to 56 before having mono.. but still not too bad. Though, if I m not lying down for ex, at the doctors, my resting heart rate is around 80) I had an echo and an ekg, both of which turned up normal. My primary care doctor also did some blood tests for anemia, thyroid, amongst others which came back normal. I took 2 months off from training completely after finding out that I had mono and then tried to slowly ease back in. It s now been 8 months (so I m sure it s not a matter of de conditioning) and I m still struggling to keep my heart rate low during easy exercise. Should I get a second opinion? Maybe do a stress echo? generally, should I be concerned?? This issue is really hindering my training and goals as a competitive athlete. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

My blood pressure is excellent, but I woke up last night with a pulse rate of 111. my husband stated go to the ER. My EKG was good, the heart monitor was good, it went down to 87, 82, but I do have a thyroid problem, think that could be the problem. The doctor also stated I had a heart mummer?? that was new :( but can you help me. Then she stated they may be given me to much thyroid medication.
