I m a 57 year young female. But the past 6 mo. I feel old in my feet. I think I have plantar fasciitis and heel spur. I m treating it with home remedies with a hard spiked ball for massage, orthotic inserts, stretching and better shoes, I.e., New Balance, Algreia and Earth Brand shoes. My feet seem to get better at times, but I think the change in shoes is causing some discomfort too. My first pair of New Balance were too tight. I wore them most of the day yesterday. The feet were so achy this morning and even throughout the day. I have a desk job, but a few times today when I got up to walk, My feet were so stiff and sore. I feel like I m old, achy and stiff and slow! I m just wondering if there could be something else going on. I m scheduled for a physical on 12/14.

I am 69yrs, and have been taking yoga and aerobics 2X/week for a couple years. I recently added a high impact Zumba class, and after about a month, my left heel developed quite a bit of pain. A physical therapist suggested plantar fasciitis, and I began wearing a plantar insole (all the time), a compression sock , and lately, a thermal plantar bootie during the night. This has been going on for a couple months, and has really been crimping my ability to walk w/o pain. Today, a friend suggested that plantar f. usually comes in both feet together, and that maybe thats not what I ve got...I thought of heel spurs, but I read that they usually come w/plantar F. I ve been trying to avoid DXrays and a $50 podiatrist visit...What do you think? Thanx, Jenny...This is very misleading...what happened to the WebMD site I was writing to?
