hypertension annoying irregular heart beat and cholesterol lowering

Strange symptoms - me (56 yr old woman) Heart Issues? Does anyone have any knowledge?
Yesterday afternoon at the same moment my daughter told me some not too good news (we were in a shopping center and her 4 yr old son had just had a chest x ray that turned out to be not very good) I started getting pain in the middle of my chest I thought hmm its because I have just driven 3hrs to get to the radiologist and I am stressed and having muscle spasm so I bought a bottle of water and took some strong pain killers which helped. When we drove back home (another 3 hrs I took more pain killers and went to bed not perturbed because I thought it was tension from my neck which I did have tension in. In the middle of the night I was aware briefly of some pain in my left arm and actually thought and dismissed heart problem? Waking up this morning still had the pain took more pain killers but now I have indigestion which although I take medication for (prescription) every morning I was suprised when it didn't work so took another 20mg and then later an over the counter med for indigestion. Now pain is pretty much gone but I am having a strange sensation happening in both my jaws just below ears. I am thinking what the hell is going on if anything is this just full on stress reaction? I could make an appointment to see an after hrs doctor tonight but don't want to obviously be taken for a hypochondriac so I am wondering if anyone can give me their ideas I realize no one is a doctor but if this series of events had happened over the past 24hrs or so to someone else out there what would they be thinking? Because I figured heart attack pain is sudden but doesn't last as long as the pain I had I am reluctant also to go to the doctor. Any ideas welcomed. PS I am 56 yrs old on meds for hypertension annoying irregular heart beat and cholesterol lowering meds which do the job.

Number one, you should not take any pain killers if something like this happens. The most you should take is asprin which will help thin your blood in case it is a heart problem. You should call 911 or get to the ER and let them check you out especially since you have hypertension. Also with you having pain in your jaws and sick to your stomach you should not play around with that at all. What are you waiting for? This could save your life. If nothing else it would ease your fear if it isn't a heart problem but I wouldn't play around. Get help now!!! Good Luck!

When I go to bed at night and I lay on either side I get very strong messed up heart beats. If I lay on my back it seems to lessen and stop. Also recently it has happened like if I am walking fast or working around the house, making beds etc. I have to stop what I am doing and just relax and breathe. It almost feels like I could pass out. I am 61 years old. 5 3 tall. I weigh 192 lbs. I am diabetic. Very low vitamin D. High cholestrol. A little bit high blood pressure. Definate lower back problems. I am going for an MRI this week for the back. I am being treated for all of this but the heart thing just sarted a couple weeks ago. Does it sound serious? Thank you I can not afford to pay but thanks anyway

Hello, I am a 60 year old male in relatively good condition and fairly active, not on any medications, blood pressure runs 120-130 over 78-84, borderline high cholesterol and very little history of heart problems in my family. Occasionally my heart beat is irregular...no fluttering, sometimes skips a beat or 2-3 fast beats in a row that usually doesn t last very long, but I usually can tell because I feel anxious. I have no other symptoms of heart problems that I m aware of. Should I be concerned?

my friend is male, 58 yrs. Had a heart attack 3 yrs ago and had a bypass. He had a mild heart attack last month no bypass.Today at his check up his cardio. dr. said that he has an 80% blockage in 4 artries not counting the ones bypassed 3yrs ago. These blockages are in places where there is a 75% chance that an operation would kill him, according to the dr. The dr said that my friend is a walking time bomb, gave him 6-8 months and added that stress, strain, physcial exertion could cause it to happen quicker.I know diet and exercise are very important in keeping a healthy heart. Is there ANYTHING my friend can do except wait?

Hi, My father is 63 years old. 2 days back he suffered a chest pain for a long time when he was walking for quite sometimes. He did some chest examinations and after he was shown a cardiologist he told that apart from a blockage in heart there is a small miocadial infarction.
I don't stay with him and i really don't know what is the his health condition and what is the immediate doable for him.
He is fine now. Some medicines are given. I don't understand was it a heart attack because the doctor haven't told like that.
I stay in Bangalore and is in Kolkata. Pls suggest the immediate doable and places where treatments would be good.
