What Do The Symptoms Such As Dry, Painful Lips With White Patches On The Back Of The Tongue Indicate?

hi, i have red, swollen lips that are dry and quite painful. I thought it was just chapped lips but it hurts more than what im usual to. I also have a bad taste in my mouth and white patches on the back of my tongue. I believe it is thrush but can you give me your opinion? also possible solutions? thank you

Hi,

Swelling of mouth and lips may be due to inflammation in the mouth. According to your history, the white patches under the tongue could be a candidal infection.

Consult your doctor. They can confirm the diagnosis by doing KOH test. NYSTATIN mouth paint and tab Fluconazole at stat followed by weekly once 150 mg for6 weeks give good relief. Tab metronidazole and B complex tabs are beneficial.
