Acne is caused due to multiple factors such as excessive oil sceretion, bacteria and hormonal causes.
As far as diet is concered anything which is raises your glycemic index, such as sweet products are best avoided.
You need to use a face wash such as neutrogena's oil free face wash.
Apply clindamycin such as clingard at morning and night.

Meet your dermatologist who will evaluate you in detail and discuss with the doctor about starting on topical retenoids at night.
