Your wife is rightly worried about your health and you should take her worry seriously. 200ml is 6.5 small pegs and that is by no way healthy. Prolonged use of alcohol alters your brain chemicals called neurotransmitters, rendering your brain dependent. If alcohol consumption is stopped, your nervous system will demand it; and this will then be experienced as restlessness, anxiety, tremors, panic, irritability, anger, frustration, insomnia, nightmares and frequently altered perceptions like illusions and hallucinations too. Alcohol decreases your confidence and self-esteem when you are in withdrawal. Consumption will stop these symptoms; but only for a short while. You may reach a stage where you continue to drink even after making up your mind to quit (to prevent adverse effects). You gradually become a slave to the drink and all activities revolve around its procurement. Some people say they drink due to loneliness, while others do so for company; some to release stress while many to curb aggression. Binge drinking explains impulsivity while continual daily drinking reveals severe physical dependence. You need to identify why you drink and understand the need to stop it. get an expert's help and find a way to quit the habit while you still haven't been sucked deep into it.
