General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Past head injury in 2010 an vertigo with swelling beneath the ear causing vertigo on turning head to left while lying down may not be directly related. The possible causes can be as follows:
- Cervical spondilitis causing compression of vertebral artery and thus reduced blood supply causing vertigo
- One of the semicircular canal swelling or leak can cause imbalance and vertigo
- Brain tumor or inflammatory condition

Hence I would advise you to first of all, consult your doctor for proper clinical evaluation so that the clinical cause can be decided to go for further management in the form of investigations and medicines or surgery as the cause can be. Tests are:
- CT scan of mastoids
- MRI of brain and/or cervical spine as the clinical judgement goes by

Continue the medicines like Eptoin, Betavert and Cinzan. Further management as per the cause found.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
