Can A Bruise On Arm Be Harmful?

I have a bruise on my arm for a few days and its yellow and green and in the middle is swollen but its hard and raised up. Its extremelly senative. The whole thing is almost the size of a dollar bill. Should I be worried sense the bfruising basically paused. No change in colors for a couple days now.

Hello,

I would not be worried as long as your forearm functions as normal. The bruising is a collection of blood that is maturing which is called a hematoma.

It should go away on its own, you can take Ibuprofen for symptomatic relief assuming you are healthy and have no allergies.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Daniel Richard Paull, Orthopaedic Surgeon
