What Should Be The Time Interval Between Cetirizine And Loratadine In Children?

can I give my child Cetirizine HCL and then an hour later give her Childrens Loratadine Oral Solution(Antihistamine)? If not so soon when will be the best time to switch her medication, for the Children s Loratadine 5mg/5ml seems to suit her itchy throat and sneezing.

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Both are similar drugs. It's best to keep a gap of twelve hours between each dose. They are longer-acting medications.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Cajetan, Pediatrician
