break or sprain, the pop kinda scared me

okay, so 4 days ago i was having a good time in the snow on a car hood had to bail landed on my right foot first and thought I herd like a pop sound. it started to hurt imediatly. went back to the house and it was already slowen n brusied a little. i could put a little of my body weight on it but not much without hurting badly. i could move my toes and slightly move my ankle in all directions. now 4 days later the bruising has gotten a little worse till now but hasnt changed much in the last 2 days the swelling dosnt seem to act up so much and the pain well it still hurts pretty bad at times. especially if i try to walk for a min. ive been using crutches the whole time trying to keep weight off of it. i didnt really want to go to the doc because i dont have much money and no health insurance. i just really want to know if its a break or sprain. the pop kinda scared me. thanks much.
