Yellowish white, painful to touch small bump on perineum below vaginal opening. Any thoughts?
Hello. I am a 48 year old female. I have a small cyst-like bump on my perineum about 1/2 an inch below my vaginal opening and slightly to the left. It was flesh colored a few days ago and now has turned a yellowish-white color as if it were filled with pus. It only hurts if I touch it or if it gets compressed. What do you think it might be?
It might be carbuncle (infection of the hair follicles) and/or could be related to infection of the vagina if also associated with vaginal discharge.
Is it possible to send a photo of the bump to assist you further?
I'd suggest to: - keep your genitalia well cleaned (wash with warm water and soap), dry it well, - apply betaine and oxygenated water locally - if still tender and painful and pus-filling, should consult a healthcare-provider to drain it. - if vaginal discharge, should apply vaginal ovules and cream containing clotrimazole and metronidazole and should consults OG for oral therapy.
All the best! Dr.Alba
