Yeast Infection In Vagina After Shaving. Vagina Red, Itchy, Burning. Not STD. Suggestions?
I shaved about 1 and a half to 2 weeks ago after that my skin has been really irritated from the irritation i got a yeast infection and is now treating it with monistat, my clitoris has been very red itchy and burning and sometimes when its rubbed against my clothes its uncomfortable. I have no std s been tested negative and im very depressed and nervous please help me
The causes for a yeast infection are various like sexual intercourse, semen and vaginal secretion mixing, vaginal pH imblance, etc; but shaving is not one of the causes.
Which is why I suggest you to first confirm the diagnosis using a vaginal swab test, as the symptoms expressed by you can be associated with various other symptoms as well.
If you are not experiencing a response to the current medication then you do not necessarily have a yeast infection and your doctor might have to re-visit the diagnosis. Which is why I have suggested the vaginal swab test.
Usually a response is experienced within 24-48 hours, if not then please report to your doctor. These are simple infections and with adequate and appropriate treatment, the individual should experience a relief at the earliest.
Hope this helps. And yes, it goes without saying, please abstain from all forms of sexual contact.
Best wishes.
