Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic

Bronchitis simply means inflammation of the bronchi which are pathways in the lungs. It can be viral or bacterial but in most cases it is viral.
Treatment would involve the use of mucolytic agents if you have a wet cough, bronchodilators (open the airways) may be helpful if the cough is persistant.Mucolytics and bronchodilators are often combined into one medications.
Some persons may require a cough suppressants and in cases where there is minimal improvement a short course of oral steroids to reduce the inflammation , may be necessary.

If your doctor believes that it is bacterial bronchitis, then oral antibiotics may be required.

I hope this helps
