X Ray Shows Calcific Density On Right Lung. How Serious Is This Condition? Treatment?

Hello Dr. Dinesh, my husband had an x ray just last week and they found a calcific density on his right lung which makes him unfit to work in saudi arabia. My question is first I want to know if it means he had contracted a tuberculosis without his knowing and is it a life threatening health problem? How it can be cured or I can say is there such a treatment so that it wont be seen again in his next x ray?

hi
thank you for the query
madam
calcific density in chest x-ray, need not be an active tuberculosis infection calcification indicates a healed lesion ..and it is no tlife threatening, you can run few tests to confirm the tuberculosis infection like TB PCR,i don't think your husband is having an active TB for which he need to under go treatment..and one more thing there are half the chances that calcific densities disapper in subsequent x-ray..
thank you
hope I have answered your query
regards
DR.Alekhya
