Wound on tailbone, bleeding and pus, foul smell, blisters, soreness. Medication for treatment?

Hello. I am 25years old and I have had a wound on my tailbone for over 2years now. I never got it checked out because I thought it was one of those things that just go away, like any cut or bruise , but this has never gone away. I m starting to think if i dont fix it with medication or treatment it will never go away. I am not really worried about it as it does not cause much pain, only sometimes when I sit down, I have to sit on my side. Although I feel it is not a huge problem in terms of health, I am very embarressed by it. The wound usually bleeds slowly every day, it seems to be a mixture of puss and blood and smells abnormal. Sometimes the wound will stop bleeding and start to form into kind of a blister and then start to become a little sorer but it always bursts naturally. Can you help me with my problem? Thank you

You definitely require a local examination. There are two possibilities that I can think of here.

1. There may be a chronic local abscess that is recurring in or around the anal region, or the gluteal region or the tailbone region itself.

2. There may be external hemorrhoids or piles that are being secondarily infected by bacteria.

You require the right management. Please do not think it will just go away. If it had to, it had been gone by now.

Please get a local examination done as said and get treated early to prevent complications.

Hope this helps.

My son has a blister which has ruptured and is now looking more like a wound. He complains of itching. It appears the infection is spreading around the large wound as I noticed 3 other new blisters deevloping around the wound. I ve bought Calamine to apply to the sores. Will Allergex be helpful?

I am just getting over a bout with skin ulcers. I found a picture on this site that matched what I had. They started as sores and after a couple of weeks they turned into skin ulcers. I saw a dermatologist who just covered them with a wound covering (looked like artificial skin) and I wore those for a month and the ulcers gradually healed, leaving a lot of scars. Was that the right treatment. I don t think my doctor knew what she was doing and I was wondering if there was a better treatment in case I get them again. It was a devastating thing, keeping me home for most of the summer.

I have itchy, irritated skin on my buttocks, with open pus drainage. These sores have been bleeding for 6-7 days, and show no signs of improving. Possibly a reaction to medication I ve been on for 7-9 weeks. Very painful, with need for pain pills at night to sleep. Any suggestions?

In my 20s, I had been pushed very hard on to the wooden part of the arm (sofa) and had landed on my bottom. I had immediately after had experienced great pain, which I knew was my tail bone. I then went to the hospital due the pain and was unable to walk very well but was told at the Hospital that it was possible bruising and was given ibrophen tablets, eventually got better after a few weeks with plenty of rest and ibrophen tablets. However, Many years later in 1998. I had given birth to my son and had experiensed the same pain in the same area (coccyx ) and heard a poping sound in my lower back and felt pain afterwards. I was yet again in a lot of pain. I had found it difficult to look after my son. I had home help within my home; once a day two nurses had inserted pain killers up my bottom end due to the wicked pain I had experienced. I also had physiotherapy but can't remember how many times a week this was done at my home; Eventually this had also got better but unfortunately felt the same pain in my back and the tail bone, when I had my periods. In 2009 had gone for an examination for bowel cancer. Before I had gone to the hospital for the examination was sent some very powerful laxatives, to
empty my bowels. I had then yet again experienced the same servere pain in my tailbone but this time the pain has never gone away since. I have had MRI scans but the results came back as clear but still convinced that i have injuried my tailbone and lower back. It's difficult to keep still in the MRI scanes for a long length of time and wounded if this effected the results.

Hi, i had been sitting on my chair in the office for a long time, that too I would keep my legs on the CPU of the computer which was under the table. N I think the whole pressure must have gone on my tail bone coccyx. So from that time I have been getting pain. I have been trying to avoid sitting for a long time but at times there is little pain. What should I do? Do u think its serious
