Would Chest Infection Cause Difficulty In Breathing?

Hello recently I have been feeling I havnt been able to draw a deep breath and have been having worried feelings astho somthing is wrong, at first I thort I had a chest infection due to shallow breathing but I don't have a cough but I do smoke so am wondering if it is anxiety attacks.

I can understand your concern.
Yes, chest infection can cause breathing difficulty.
But possibility of chest infection is less because you are not having cough or fever.
Since you are smoker, possibility of bronchitis is more.
So better to consult pulmonologist and get done clinical examination of respiratory system and PFT (Pulmonary Function Test).
PFT will not only diagnose bronchitis but it will also tell you about severity of the disease.
And treatment of bronchitis is based on severity only. You may need inhaled bronchodilators and inhaled corticosteroid (ICS).
First of all, quit smoking as soon as possible. This will help you a lot.
