Would Bruises And Swelling In Leg After An Injury Confirm Hairline Fracture?
ankle about a month ago I went to the river with family. it was only about mid leg high but the tide was stronge I had lost my footing a. got taken in to a bunch of rocks. I didn't notice at the time but about 5 minutes there my ankle began to hurt. it bruised a little an swelled I didn't like much of it because I was able to still apply pressure but its been a month an it is still hurting an swollen. my parents think it might be a hairline fracture. does that sound right an if so what should i do?
Hi, If the ankle was hit to the rocks , and if even after 1 month if the pain and swelling still persists , u need to take an x ray of the ankle and foot to rule out fracture. Since it has already been 1 month, even if there is a fracture , there is nothing much to do ( provided it is not a displaced fracture ) except advice u to take complete rest with strict avoidance of weight bearing.NEVERTHELESS, x ray is necessary.
