Would Antibiotics Suffice To Treat The Pus And Swelling Around The Stitches Of The Wound?

I cut my hand open on glass a week ago. It was so deep it exposed my bone. I had it stitched and have gad my dressing changed but my hand is very swollen and there is a small amount if pus coming from the wound. I was taking antibiotics for 5 days after I did it to prevent infection but im worried. Please help

Welcome to HCM.

Cut wounds usually heal faster if skin approximation is done correctly by suturing. If wound gaping is seen, then most probably your wound has got infected and you have not responded to the antibiotics prescribed. I would suggest you get a culture sensitivity test done of a swab taken from the wound and get appropriate antibiotics based on the test results.
