welcome to healthcaremagic
when it is known that the problem starts with prolonged empty stomach then it is natural that you should not be in empty stomachfor long time
you should consult physician/gastroenterologist

Dear Doc,

Thanks a lot for your valuable opinion.

I know it is because of my mistake only, if i won't follow nature's rules, i have to suffer. I always try to avoid it but unfortunately sometime i can not maintain my daily routine.

So please answer me relatively, I was expecting why does it happen(What exactly happens inside my body if i do not eat for half of the day only, as you know people fast for a day but i can not think about it because of my problem, so please help me...) ?

And is it going to be something DANGEROUS ;)

James.

Hi James
Missing breakfast/lunch/dinner, could have harmful effects on your body.Breakfast is considered the most important meal of the day and one has to always have breakfast.

Since the dinner is the last meal of the day , a person remains in fasting mode till the next morning , hence it is called" break-fast" the meal which one has to start the day.
Due to overnight fasting , the blood glucose levels come down and if one does not eat in the mornings, the glucose levels will further go down , causing fatigue , lack of energy and may even lead to fainting attacks.

In fasting state or due to irregular and erratic timing of food, the acid secretion increases in the stomach causing symptoms of acidity , indigestion and heart burn. A long standing deficit in calories and multi vitamin and protein deficiency can also happen and pave way to easy access of infections due to lower immunity.

Hence I suggest you to never miss a meal , be it breakfast, lunch or dinner.Have breakfast generously , lunch in moderation and a light dinner at night. This is the key to good health.

Wish you good health

Dr. Vidya,

Thanks a lot.

I got the answer exactly what i was expecting.

Do you mean to say... As of now, I do not have any Medical Issue. I suffer only because of my mistake (of not following the meals)?

I wish "i will break my fast daily" ;)

James.

Hi James,

Thanks for writing back

It is good to learn that you have no other medical issues.I would just ask you to be regular on your breakfast and have meals "on time".

If you smoke or drink alcohol , I suggest to cut down on them, also cut down on coffee or tea/aerated drinks .Soups, salads, fresh fruit juices could do good for you, munch on them as much as you want .

Good luck

Dr. Vidya,

Thanks for educating me.

This information is enough to make myself satisfied. I will definitely follow your words. Neither i smoke nor i drink, but for better health i will add soups, salads, fresh fruit juices in the list of eatables.

Thanks again for motivating me.

James.

I am a 31 year old female who has been experiencing severe headaches in the afternoon for a few months. They have started to get worse and I am now experiencing a metallic taste in my mouth with nausea and vomiting. When the Headaches start my neck becomes stiff and uncomfortable. The only thing that has made any difference is laying down flat. I feel almost no pain when I am horizontal. I am not too sure if I should see a Dr. or wait it out. Medical history- About 8 months ago I was admitted to the hospital for something similar and they did a lumbar puncture and 3 blood patches after 2 of witch ended up causing me more pain the third one seemingly fixing the problem.

i ve been getting severe headaches for about 5 years now. the pain starts in the middle of inside the head and pushes outward (the pressure feels like my head is going to explode) afterwards i get really nacious and start vomitting, and then i get really weak and tired. this process usually last 12-24hrs. i ve had normal headaches and migraines before and i know this is something different. light and noise do not effect the severeness of my headaches. i ve tried many medications (perscriptions and over the counter pain killers) and nothing works. what could this be?

I am on bio-identical hormones and my testosterone level has gone from 62 to 247 in the last 8mos. My GYN has finally told me to stop the testosterone for a while. I ve been having abdominal pain and now lower/upper back pain for the past 3mos. Had ultrasound last wk and it came back showing uterus is anteverted, small hypoechoic foci likely respresents fibroids measuring 8mm. As well as a 1.5cm right ovarian cyst containing some internal debris and a 1.3cm simple left ovarian cyst. Can this be a result of the high testosterone? And is this something to be concerned about? And will these go away on their own?

Hi, i am writing on behalf of a friend. He had been diagnosed with having IBS when he was 13, without a colonoscopy, and now he is 25. He has been having abdominal pain and interchanges of diarrhea and constipation all these years but a month ago it suddenly got really worse (after having some fish, but even if it was bad, he had never experienced such excruciating pain again), as in one day he started to ache so much he couldn't get up off the floor. It was like stabbing and ripping him apart. He went to the hospital and had blood work done and an X-ray and they said it was normal but suggested a colonoscopy but he didn't go through with it. Ever since he has been having really severe abdominal pain and interchanges of diarrhea and constipation and he has been to several doctors, one prescribing him with amitriptyline and antibiotics for the intestine, and another after that giving him mebeverine hydrochloride alone. He took the antibiotics and amitriptyline for almost a month and it helped him a bit but in the evening he would none the less have the return of the severe pain in his entire abdomen, sometimes centering on the left upper side of it. Then he went to the other doctor who perscribed mebeverine hydrochloride, telling him it would instantly help, without that being the case when he tried it. He had extensive blood work done and everything was normal, no inflammation or anemia, and the doctor said he didn't need anything else and should just take the mebeverine. But he is still in pain and i was wondering if it could be something else with these symptoms. Should he have a colonoscopy or some other less painful test? He also has Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease.
