Will Using Vivelle Dot Patch Help Loose Weight?

I had total hysterectomy 3 years ago at 42 years old. I am not taking any hormones. I take medicine for underactive thyroid and my numbers are in normal range now. I have gained 25 lbs and it s nearly impossible for me to lose it even on weight watchers. If I start using vivelle dot patch again would this help me lose weight? Also I have terrible hot flashes and average only 4-5 hours of sleep at night

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The symptoms you described are typically of menopause (you should have removed ovaries together with uterus).Of course you are a candidate for hormone replacement therapy and the symptoms will improve in a few months.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
