Will This Medication Cause Any Side Effects?

I am Lakshmi of Age 30,I am in 27th week of my 2nd Pregnancy.I had DNC done last year when my daughter is 3 years.

I had GTT & TFT tested on 27th week.GTT is normal & T4 is little spiked as 14.6.My Anomolies & Fetal Echo scan during 22 weeks were normal.

I was prescribed Betnesol 2 doses on 29th week pregnancy.My worry is that,why I was prescribed this steroid?

Any side effects to my Baby's development or mine is expected?Please advice Doctor.

Dear Lakshmi, do have full faith in your doctor. Betnesol is given for lung maturation and to avoid ARDS, acute respiratory distress syndrome in case there is a premature labour, it is safe in pregnancy. I'd like to know if your daughter was born a little premature. And please don't worry much, both you and your baby will be fit and fine!
