Hi and thanks for the query, It is not rare to have some mild bleeding after a D and C, but a few considerations must be considered. It becomes serious if the bleeding is so severe, is so persistent or is accompanied by severe pain or fever. This could indicate incomplete evacuation of infection. A control clinical evaluation and at times, an ultrasound might be required to be sure that the uterus was completely evacuated. Non prescription of drugs to cause contraction of uterine muscles could also be a cause. I suggest a complete reevaluation by your primary care physician. Thanks and best regards, Luchuo, MD.
