Will The Creatinine Level Increase After A Angioplasty?
My father suffering from heart disesese. and he has 3 blocks and try to one block angiplast in kannur unforterley doctro has refused and told to us his vain all calcium we canot do only one way bypass now neprolgy told to us his crating 2.1 and his kideny will be damaged after bypass he is not giving approval. so now he he has brethless problems we big confuse what can do pleae jelp me doct
your nephrologist is correct if he is stating that the Radio-Contrast dye used for Angiographic examination during angioplasty may worsen the Kidney Function. But, as you have stated that your father's Coronary Angiography has already been done showing 3 blocks (? a triple vessel disease with heavily calcified vessels) an Coronary - Byepass Graft Surgery should be the treatment of choice and it should not impair the kidney function, in any way !
So, if it is essential you may very well go ahead with CABG (Byepass)!
Even for Coronary Angiography/-plasty of a person with slightly deranged renal function, there are several measures that may be taken to minimize the development of what is called 'Contrast - Induced Nephropathy.
One is preference of a "non-ionic dye' with minimum contrast exposure time. Other is use of N-Acetylcyisteine duringand after the procedure.
Hope this information is useful for you.
