Will Taking Lisinopril Be Effective For Fatigue, hot Flashes And Headache?

My husband has started Lisinopril, today is day 2. He has been complaining of extreme fatigue, shacking, very flushed and hot, headache and apprehension. I checked his BP tonight and he was 158/98. Are these common symptoms and will even out as his body adjusts? Should he stop taking them. He has been taking them in the evening

Dear Friend.
Hi , I am Dr Anshul Varshney , I have read your query in detail , I understand your concern.
These side effects can occur on Lisinopril , however , not so common.
You have not mentioned his age , and duration of his hypertension.
If he is young and is having these kinds of episodes in past to , we need to evaluate him for causes of secondary hypertension like Pheochromocytoma.
But if he has started having these symptoms , recently , they are probably due to Lisinopril. theey usually disappear in 3-4 days.
If they persist , a re consideration of Anti Hypertensive is required.

This is my personal opinion based on details available here. If you want to discuss your issues further, you may please ask us

Hi and welcome to HCM. losinopril belongs to group of antihypertensives. It will help in controlling high BP. If BP still not under control u have to contact local Physician for change in medications. Lisinopril will not help in treating fatigue, hot flashes and headache. Their might be some other reasons for these symptoms, i advice u to consult a local doctor for this for complete evaluation of your hubby. Restrict salt in his diet, motivate him for exercise, let him practice some meditation techniques which might help in controlling his BP. I hope i answered your query.
Regards
Dr Santosh

HI
Thank for asking to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, the symptoms of your husband has nothing to take with the medicine "Lisinopril" this could be due to his apprehensiveness, and emotional stress, this is transient phase and will come around soon no need to worry bout this, hope this information helps you, have nice day.
