Will Permethrin Treatment Be Safe For Rashes On Body?

I need to do the permethrin treatment again because I have new areas with a rash but I m confused as to the logistics. The dr had told me to shower in the morning but apply the permethin at night so that it would adhere to my body better. However, the consensus seems to be to shower right before. Also, last time I threw my sheets in the washer in the morning (after I had the cream on all night and was about to throw it out). Is that correct? Thank you.

Hello.
Permethrin 5% cream or lotion is given for treatment of scabies, which is caused by microscopic mite. In general 5-6 mites stay on a person infected with scabies. The most common sites are websapces of fingers, axillae, groins, around belly button, genital area and thighs. Permethrin ideal application is as follows:
1. take a warm water bath before sleep, then apply permetrhin all over the body except for face, and scalp.
2. Special attention should be given to the places i just told above.
3. Dont leave gaps in between.
4. Empty all the contents of the tube in a single night, it is a one-time application tube.
5. Have regular bath in the morning, to remove all the cream applied to the body.
6. Be careful not to ingest the cream.
7. Better if repeated after 1 week to achieve more efficacy.
8. Along with this, all clothes, bedsheets also should be washed, as the mite stay hidden in these areas and cause relapse.
