Will Icing Wrist After Spraining It Help?

I believe I sprained my wrist yesterday in a basketball game. I have iced about 4 times between now and then for about 10-20 minutes each time. What is the best procedure(s) to follow to treat this? Some have suggested soaking in epsom salt...agree?

Hello,

Salt is OK or ibuprofen gel. Anyway, it is also necessary immobilization. If the pain persists, consulting with an orthopedist for a physical exam is necessary.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
