Will Hot Yoga Help Me In Getting My Voice Back?

I have a hoarse voice from screaming on roller coasters 3 days ago. I am a singer and have a performance tomorrow night. I was thinking of going to my regular bickram yoga class tonight, which is done is a super heated and humidified room. No hard breathing involved but certainly long slow breathing. I am hoping it will stretch me out all over including my vocal chords. I am not using my voice for speaking or anything else over the next couple days to try and recover it for the performance. Could the hot yoga be harmful in any way?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Noted your history well and understood the problems. Since you are a singer you have really have to take of your voice well, never utilize it in a wrong way. I would advise you the following: Avoid something that is not certain to give results particularly in a case when you are a singer.

You can get the stream inhalations of plain water at home. Complete voice rest is a must. You have to consult an ENT Surgeon for clinical evaluation, Laryngoscopy to know the exact problem. There is a possibility of unequal thickness of cord or singer's nodules.

A course of a steroid and other medications like anti-inflammatory medications. All this will helps you get the best possible diagnosis and proper management.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
