Will History Of Taking Steroids Have Any Effect On Pregnancy?

I have just found out I am pregnant and my partner tells me he was taking a dose of injection sterioids and prozac up until sepetember 2013. I think I conceived december 2013. Will this have effected his sperm and tehrefore put the developing baby at risk?
Thanks

Hi,
Thanks for the query.
Though the lifespan of spermatozoa in male body is around 90 days, there may not be any major effect on the fetus as your partner stopped taking steroids three month before conception.
Usually abnormal spermatozoa may not lead to conception.
So, you can continue the pregnancy.
But regular antenatal checkups and ultrasound examinations are needed to monitor the fetal growth and well being.
Ultrasound at 11 weeks of gestation and TIFFA scan at around 20 weeks are advisable.
Start taking folic acid prophylaxis from now onwards, take nutritious diet, adequate hydration, sufficient rest.
Take care.
