Dear Bristi,

It seems delay in your menses is due to high level of Prolactin. Prolactin is a hormone secreted by Pituitary for producing milk. This hormone interferes the egg formation and conception, leading to infertility.

You have been given Progesterone to induce the withdrawal bleeding. This is not to maintain your pregnancy; since it is not existing.

Since you are aspiring for pregnancy, please manage the high levels of prolactin. Your Prolactin levels are considerably high (63.3). Its normal range is under 20-30. To start with, get the X-ray of your skull done to find out whether you have any tumour in the Pituitary gland. Your Prolactin levels are less than 100; hence, if at all it is existing, it would be micro-adenoma of the pituitary. These tumours can very well be managed by medicines. These tumours of moderate size are most often treated with Bromocriptine or more recently, Cabergoline or Quinagolide which decrease tumor size as well as alleviates symptoms. These medicines need to be taken till you conceive.

It is advisable that while on these medicines, you monitor the egg release (ovulation) by ultrasonography and plan the sexual relations on or around
the day of ovulation. Discontinuation of medicines before conception may raise the Prolactin levels again reverting the situation to status quo.

So take Progesterone only to induce the menstruation and then follow up your Hyperprolactinaemia. Please report to a Gynaecologist or Infertility Consultant for your problem. High Progesterone levels is not your problem.

If you ask me a Direct question with the reports of the investigations I have suggested you, we can discuss it in detail and I can advise you further management.

I hope this provides you initial guidelines.
