My daughter purchased a bedroom set made in China and the fumes are sickening and another person said that china did not age the wood maybe and it gives off fumes described as formalhyde. The fumes are terrible. Is this dangerous to her health? She is looking to get the room defumed what do you recommend?

formaldehyde fumes is not hazardous if we exposed only for short time. if you exposed it to for prolonged period than you may be risk of cancer. but if you have to defume it than you have to do it with ammonia. we use formaldehyde in healthcare practice for fumigation so we often expose it so many times. so in short time it is not hazardous. thnx
