Will Estrace And Prometrium Help Hot Flashes And Night Sweats?

Hello, Im taking .5 estrace in the morning and 100 mg promterium. Hot flashes and night sweats disappeared after a few weeks but my night sweats have started again after being on the hormones for 6 weeks. Is this an indication that my dosage is too low? Can I take my estrace later in the day, would that help with the night sweats? Thank you

Hi. Welcome to HCM. Estrace and prometrium contains females hormones estrogen and progesterone in synthetic forms. Estrace is used by women to help reduce symptoms of menopause (such as hot flashes, vaginal dryness). These symptoms are caused by the body making less estrogen. If you are using this medication to treat symptoms only in and around the vagina, products applied directly inside the vagina should be considered before medications that are taken by mouth. Prometrium is indicated for use in the prevention of endometrial hyperplasia (the inner lining of uterus) in postmenopausal women who are receiving conjugated estrogens tablets. estrogen is more effective in preventing hot flashes and night sweats. I advice u to consult your treating doctor for any dose adjustments. Dont ever increase or decrease the dose of these medications with out your doctors knowledge. Regards.
