Will Dates Intake Increase Milk Secretion And Suggest Quantity?

Hello doctor....
I am a mom for 2 month old baby. I have low milk secretion. I got tablets and lactation powder as well. I want to know that what foods will help for milk secretion. will dates help to increase milk supply. If so, how many dates i should take for a day.
Thanks,

Pediatrician 's  Response
Dates will not help in increasing milk secretion. The secretion of milk is dependant on the suckling of the baby. The more hungry the baby is, more it sucks and as a result more breast milk is produced. If you give external feeds, the hunger is reduced and so the baby sucks less and the breast milk production comes down. It is a vicious cycle.

Taking reglan (metoclopramide) tablet can help/ Alternatively, lactonic granules 1 sachet with a glass of milk twice daily may be helpful in increasing the breast milk production.
