Will Coughing And Weakness Stop After Quitting Smoking?

i have been coughing alot and mucas has been comming up greenish thick in color . i was so tired the last 3 weeks i couldnt even walk to the next room without feeling very week and out of breath . i know i must stop smoking right away . can my symptoms improve if i stop smoking now? sorry im broke ill just talk to my doctor .

Hi Dear ,

As per your query you have coughing and mucous has been coming up greenish thick in color . Well there symptoms you mention in query can occur due to many reasons, but in your case it seems to me that the symptoms are probably due to condition known as smoker’s cough . I would suggest you to stop smoking immediately and consult chest specialist for proper examination . Doctor may order chest X-ray , take sample of mucous , piece of lung for lab test and blood test . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics along with decongestant and expectorant . In case of lung cancer doctor may also recommend chemotherapy or radiotherapy .
