My wife is expecting a baby on the 2nd of March, 2012 as per doctor. But she experiences bleeding one or two cloths of blood last week and now again. Why is it happenning? Is it a serious problem and will it affect the baby and her pregnancy or delivery? What should we do now?

Hello dear,I understand your concern. In my opinion the bleeding during pregnancy might be due to cervix bleeding due to varicosities, erosion, polyp or low lying placenta or sometimes fetal bleeding. The fetal bleeding and low lying placenta can be ruled out by ultrasound. If they are not present then you need not worry. But frequent bleeding might make mother anaemic so check the HB to rule out anaemia and ensure taking iron supplements.
