Will A Chest X-ray Show The Ptb?

hi im 21 years old and im a nurse 2 years ago i was diagnosed with ptb minimal for a medical exam for our hospital trainings.i might acquired it from one of my pt. i consulted my physician and undergone a sputum AFB the results are all negative so i was given a medical certifacate saying that i am not contagous. i was treated though. after 2 months i came back but after that i did not go back to my doctor but finished the whole six months of treatment instead. i never had other chest xray since then because i a ashamed of my condition. now i am planning to go abroad but i am scared that my chest xray will show that i am not cured and will failed the medical exam. i am so scared and worried now. PLEASE HELP. thanks

No need to worry.see on x ray healed TB lesion seen life long.so if x ray Suggestive of some spots it always does not mean u r suffering from active disease. U should 1st go for x ray than sputum for AFB. than if still the visa authority not convinced specially for US N UK u should get done bronchoscopy n BAL culture for AFB.if all this comes normal u can safely stamp as not having active TB.
