Will Registrone Tablets If Taken During Pregnancy Affect The Baby?

Hi my name is Smitha.My last periods was on Dec 12th.Since i wanted to go for a trip i took Registrone tablets for postponing my periods from jan 9th to Jan 12th.But as of now i did not get my periods.If i am pregnant will the tablet affect the baby.After how many days shall i do pregnancy test.please help me

Hi,
Thanks for the query.
After stopping progesterone tablets sometime it may take around one week to get the withdrawal bleeding.
So, possibly you may get withdrawal bleeding soon.
Regesterone contains norethisterone. Which belongs to category x drugs in pregnancy.
Means it can affect the baby.
But as you have used the tablets only for limited period, there may not be any major problem.
You can check for pregnancy after one week of missed period with urine pregnancy test kit.
In case of test positive, if you want to continue the pregnancy, continue with regular antenatal checkups and ultrasound examinations.
