Will IBS Affect Medicines Taken?

Hello i have ibs and have for a good 5 years. At least that's what i think it is. My ibs isn't bad at the moment but it does flare up and is always diarrhoea. I cant remember the last time i had a normal bowel movement. Will this effect my pill if i have a flare up. I take my pill in the morning at 8 and am usually fine all day because i don't eat until i am home and alone just in case i have to run to the toilet.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

IBS does not affect the medicines taken, but there can be different drug interactions, if IBS medicines are taken with certain molecules.

So, I would like to get the re evaluate the query in concern with details of medicines for which you are asking.

Regards.
