Will 20 Mg Of Oxycontin Help While Dilaudid 8 Mg Doesn't Help During Chronic Pain ?

Hello, I have been on Dilaudid 8 mg for 2 years for chronic pain. But lately they don't seem to work that well anymore. My doctor suggested oxycontin 20mg and see if that works better. In one way I am afraid to change, but then again I might try. I am a RN myself and I have the feeling that 20 mg is not as strong as 8mg Dilaudid. What do you think.?

I am sorry but my question is not that important to pay for an answer. I have an appointment with my physician in 2 days and I will ask him myself.
Thank you for your time. Have a wonderful evening
