Hi doctor, my wife was 22 yrs old & 50 KGs. My wife has tested positive for pregnancy of 5 weeks. she has used the unwanted kit (Mankind) as per prescribe and there was only one day bleeding then there was no bleeding after that. we went to doctor and checked, she said there was still pregnancy. does my need to take one more time of tablets. Please suggest.

Incomplete abortion or retained bits may give positive pregnancy test due to inadequate dose of the medicine. One USG scan is required to assess the current status of abortion. Kindly, consult with doctor for management and D & C may be required.

Even though pills (such as mankind kit-mifeprestone) can be a good method of pregnancy termination at early pregnancy it can often not be an effective method. The surest and most effective method of therapeutic termination of pregnancy is a D&C or vacuum suction pump. If pill fails, then it is best if you both opted for a D&C or with the advise of your doctor can still take another unwanted pill. Mifeprestone is usually used in combination with another misoprostol to effectively terminate the pregnancy.
Just discuss further with her doctor for alternative options.
