Widow maker heart attack, atrial fib. Could not do balloon test, place stents. Test for confirmation?

My husband passed away a couple of months ago from what I was told was a widow maker heart attack . He survived 1.5 hours after the onset, but they could not get him to come out of atrial fib in order to do the balloon test or to place a stent . My question is, Is there some type of test that can be done to determine if this is a possibilty in someone with NO history of heart disease?
