Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...
As per your complain and presentation of symptoms your problem seems to be related to
Mouth Breathing causing
dry mouth.
As you are waking up with a very dry mouth the most common cause with a large number of people is mouth breathing which leads to a dry mouth as well as irritation in throat..
There is not necessarily pus formation but the pain and irritation can be due to dryness and inflammation in throat..
The first thing that you should do is to stop the habit of mouth breathing..
For this you can employ a simple trick..
Stick a vertical strip of doctor's tape or micropore tape over your closed lips before sleeping at night..
This will enforce
nasal breathing and prevent dry mouth and throat..
If mouth breathing is due to some pathological condition like respiratory problems you should get treated for it..
For soothing the throat you can take anti-inflammatory painkiller
Ibuprofen.
Do warm saline gargles..
Drink plenty of water.
Chew a sugarfree chewing gum as it helps in stimulating saliva flow..
Avoid spicy foods..
Hopefully you will start feeling better in 3 to 4 days and if there is still no improvement consult an ENT physician and get evaluated..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards..
