Why There Is Slight Pain In The Ear?

I had eye twitching , followed by parotid gland swelling and doctor recommended amox-clas 875 mg tablets and Valacyclovir tablets for 2 weeks and I see that the swelling got reduced and still there is some slight pain in the ear.
Can you tell me whether its chronic

your acute infection in ear have reduced by those medicines .
but pain will still be present for 2 or 3 days
due to edema and mild skin disturbance in ear canal .
it will come down soon , don't worry.
if it is chronic, u will have discharge from ear
