Why The Genitals Of My 9 Month Old Baby Red ?
hi im jerde from philippines , my baby is 9 m0nths old just today her genitals is red after her third poo , she keeps on crying . pls advice me what to do thank you very much

Hi Jerde, redness in the perianal area is commonly seen after loosemotins. To avoid it wipe the area gently and keep it dry. Avoid continuous use of diapers. use vaseline or petroleum jelly locally. If there is no improvement an antifungal ointment like Candid B can be used twice aday till required.

There must be infection or inflammation due to the stools especially if it was loose stools. See that your child is well hydrated. You must be aware of diaper rash due to allergy can also present this way. It would be best to show her to the Paediatrician to treat any infection and prevent complications as soon as possible.

its often due to local excoriation of skin.always use soaked cotton to clean the area and receive medication for loose motion.
