Why The Chest Gets Hurt While Breathing?

My daughter warmed up lasagna for lunch and she took bite that was apparently way too hot. She has been complaining that her chest hurts when she breathes. When she sleeps, she is good, but once she wakes up, it hurts. I am taking her to the Dr. s, but wondering if there is any answer as to what is making her hurt.

Hi thanks for asking question.
Here are some possibilities.
First she is complaining about pain after getting up from bed.so it might be muscular pain because of improper sleep posture.
Simple analgesic taken for it.
Second pain present while breathing , so if associated with cough and fever chances of early pneumonia has to be ruled out.CBC and chest x ray helpful in rule out it.
Third it can be acute bronchitis in which also chest pain can occur.
So with proper sleep posture first rule out muscular pain and if still pain present other infective or inflammatory cause has to be ruled out.Physical examination for esp.auscultation with stethoscope needed.
Wish you good health.
