Why My Stomach Flap To My Esophagus And Intestines Are Inflamed?

It feels as though the stomach flap to my esophagus and intestines are inflamed. The pain is severe, as if a knife is twisting between my sternum. I am on a liquid diet for two days to releave pain but it isn't improving much. I go to the gi on Thurs. What questions should I make sure I ask.

Thanks for your query.
Noted the history and understood the concerns.
Ask no questions to Gastroenterologist but tell him the detailed history to be sure that clinical evaluation, examination and further investigations get you the correct diagnosis which can be as follows:
GERD that is gastroesophageal reflux disease.
Hyper-acidity leading the gastritis or ulcer and reflux esophagitis.
I would advise you the following till you see your GI Specialist:
Take OTC PPI like Omeprazole.
Antacids every three hourly.
Domperidone as motility regulator.
Rest of the treatment after investigations like that of blood and stool, ultrasonography and most importantly an Upper GI Endoscopy.
