Why My Knee Is Swollen And Sore After Got Hurt In The Knee?

I hurt my knee at a funeral from being a pall bear and I had xrays taken of my knee and was told by my doctor that there wasn't any thing wrong with it , but my knee has never gone back to the way it used to be. It stays swollen and sore all the time no matter what steps I take to rectify the problem?

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hello,
Thanks for your query.
Since the bony injuries have been ruled out, a soft tissue injury is likely. You need to avoid massaging the area and take a mild pain killer for relief. Do a cold compress on the area of injury and apply crepe bandage compression over swelling.
The pain and swelling might take over a week to subside. In case there is an acute pain and a sudden increase in swelling then consult your physician for a direct examination to rule out any infection in the area.

I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query.
Take care
