Why Is The Burning Sensation In The Penis Still There Even After Taking Medication For UTI?
I was experiencing some burning sensation and feeling like I needed to urinate. I was told that I have a urinary tract infection. Had the dip test and a culture done...both negative. I was put on cipro and another med to eleviate the pain. It has been a week today, and though I don t feel that burning/tingling like before, I am feeling the tingling sensation at the tip of penis still. I m not finished taking my cipro tabs yet, and of course will do so. What can I expect? Thanks so much. John
Welcome to HCM. Go for urine test again to confirm the infection. Also go for usg abdomen to rule out any stone . Pain on tip of penis also occurs due to passage of stone in the tract with passing of crystals. Drink more water and other liquids. Take care for local local hygiene. Keep in touch with your treating doctor.
