Hello.
I suppose you wanted to ask about hernia operation. Hernia operations are done to repair the defect in the frontal wall of the abdomen as the hernia forms due to the weakness in the muscle layer wall of the abdomen. This weakness can be caused due to persistent inguinal duct in the inguinal canal, any previous surgeries, other underlying pathology within the abdomen which increases the intra abdominal pressure, defect in the correct formation of the muscle layers or due to underlying defect in collagen production due to genetic defect. This procedure involves placing a mesh which will form and strengthen the abdominal wall. Hope this will clarify. Regards.
