Why is my leg tingly and numb after ankle sprain?

I sprained my ankle over 2 weeks ago and it was still a little tender but I could walk, jump etc. Now this morning it was getting painful again, and now, a few hours into the day, my whole lower leg is feeling tingly and numb. Are they related, does this happen?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to a pinched nerve. I suggest using anti-inflammatory medication such as Ibuprofen 400 mg three times a day. I also suggest to maintain the are as immobilized as possible to avoid further damage.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
